Pat committed her life to Jesus Christ at the age of thirty-two after He powerfully intervened and healed her broken marriage. After eight years of study, she began teaching the Bible to women, convinced that it was the Word of God that offers help and hope for women today. In 1986 she was the co-founder of The Women's Fellowship that ministered to over four hundred women for eighteen years. She also served as the Women's Ministry Director at Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, GA. She is now the founder and president of Big Dream Ministries, Inc which produces The Amazing Collection and often speaks at retreats and conferences. Pat has a Masters Degree in Education from Western Michigan University and has taken courses from Dallas Theological Seminary. She and her husband have two married daughters and six grandchildren.

In 1986, a group of women at Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, Georgia, USA under the direction of Pat Harley began a ministry to provide excellent Bible teaching and offer encouragement to women. Within a few years the Women’s Fellowship Ministry was reaching hundreds of women weekly.

In 1996, we began to teach the Bible sequentially so women might better understand the purpose of every book in God’s Word and clearly see the incredible story of God’s redemption. This method of Bible study was unique but the results were dynamic for both new believers and seasoned students.

In 1999, God began to direct Pat to put the study on film with the hope of reaching millions with the “big picture” of God’s Holy Word. As she prayed and God directed, He began bringing the resources and people needed for such a huge project.

Eleanor Lewis, Linda Sweeney and Margie Ruether, much loved Bible teachers for the Women’s Fellowship, joined Pat to form a teaching team. In 2001 Big Dream Ministries was formed as a 501(c )3 not-for-profit corporation. Soon there were over 40 volunteers helping with the music, legal aspects and hundreds of other necessary details. Soteria Productions became the production company and Art VanderVeen and Carrie Ott were hired to write all the workbooks in conjunction with the teachers.

In 2005 all sixty-six DVDs and eleven workbooks were completed. Today The Amazing Collection is not only a popular Bible study among Women’s Ministries, small groups and individual students in America but also has been televised on ACCTV in Australia, UCBTV in England, CNLTV (Russian language) in Russia and 115 other countries and in Ukraine (Ukraine language), Kingdom Sat (Arabic language) in the Middle East and North Africa and Shine TV in New Zealand. The fervent prayers to reach a million women have been answered with a resounding “YES”!

Most at peace singing to her Lord Jesus, Verna is constantly amazed at how God uses her past experience of performing in nightclubs to bring glory to His name in the here and now. Verna’s passion is for training up a new generation in worship leading and personal devotion to Christ. Verna and her husband Dennis live in Marietta, GA with their two teenage daughters, Camille and Meredith, and their dog, Lolli. They are members of Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, GA.
